PedidosYa

2023

Introduction:

The goal was to redesign the "PedidosYa" food delivery app to address the issues users were facing with hidden features and a cumbersome user experience. The aim was to improve the app's usability by strategically placing key features where users could easily find them, resulting in a more efficient and seamless food ordering process.

Research phase:

To begin the redesign process, extensive research was conducted to gain a comprehensive understanding of the existing app's pain points. User interviews, surveys, and usability testing were carried out to gather user feedback and identify common frustrations. The research phase revealed that users were spending more time than necessary to complete their tasks due to hidden features and unintuitive navigation.

User research insights.

Define Phase:

The insights gathered from the research phase were then analyzed and synthesized to define the problem statement for the redesign. It was identified that the hidden features and complex architecture of the app were hindering the user's ability to accomplish their tasks efficiently. The key objective was to simplify the app's structure and make the important features more accessible to users.

Ideate Phase:

During the ideation phase, various design concepts were explored to improve the app's usability. I brainstormed ideas and sketch out potential solutions based on the insights obtained in previous sections. The emphasis was on streamlining the user flow, improving navigation, and making the essential features more prominent and easily discoverable.

Design Phase:

Based on the ideation phase, wireframes and interactive prototypes were created to visualize the new app design. The design focused on a clean and intuitive user interface, with a simplified navigation system that provided users with easy access to essential features. Key features, such as search, order tracking, and payment options, were given more prominence to enhance their discoverability.

Re-designed app.

Test Phase:

The redesigned app was then subjected to extensive user testing to gather feedback and validate the effectiveness of the new design. Participants were given various tasks to complete within the app, and their interactions and feedback were observed and recorded. The test phase helped identify any remaining usability issues and provided insights for further refinements.

Conclusion:

The redesign of the "PedidosYa" food delivery app successfully addressed the issues associated with hidden features and a cumbersome user experience. By strategically placing key features where users could easily find them, the new design significantly improved usability and efficiency.
